Sep 9, 2022 | Be Well, Podcast

How do we manage our lives mentally, physically, and spiritually?

In today’s episode, we will talk about how we manage our lives mentally, physically, and spiritually. Leaders need to live by example, so we want to share our personal experiences with being well.

Mentally

Mindset is everything. Simply put, your mindset combines your beliefs, thoughts, emotions, assumptions, and attitudes. Your perspective and outlook on life are going to make or break you. With our busy schedules, most people would not be able to handle the number of things we deal with. Organization is essential to maintain sanity and mental clarity with busy lives.

Productivity Apps

Project management apps work well to brain dump different areas of life you’re focused on.

What do you say about the QUALITY of your life?

When we say we manage our lives, we have to be in good condition. Are you physically fit? What foods do you eat? Are you in line with your beliefs?

In this modern era, we are more concerned about our life and career goals, paying little attention to our health.

It leaves us stressed in various ways, with the inability to release that stress properly.

Let me tell you, for a healthy life, what you need to do,

MANAGE your PHYSICAL, CHEMICAL, and EMOTIONAL STRESSES

An inability to manage stress leads you to have to carry it not only throughout the day but also throughout your life. But stress does not go away on its own you need a strategy and a plan.

A strategy enables the FRONTLINE WARRIOR in you to control your stresses and achieve a healthy mind and body

The key is:

A Healthy Lifestyle.

As human beings, we are highly sensitive creatures. What you consume each day greatly impacts your body and general well-being. And this consumption can be in any form- food, thoughts, actions, etc.

Everything subconsciously affects your health, from the food in your belly to the news you watch on the T.V. any negative encounter can have lasting outcomes for your mental, spiritual, and physical health.

This means you have to be cautious about the following aspects of wellness to ensure leading a healthy life:

  • What kind of FOOD do you eat?
  • What are your BELIEFS and VALUES about nutrition and exercise?
  • Who do you spend your TIME with?
  • How do you spend your LEISURE time?
  • How do you ACT on a day-to-day basis?
  • What lens do you choose to VIEW THE WORLD?

The first step to getting healthier is to realize you have an issue.

Because there is no way that you can achieve true happiness if you always surround yourself with TOXICITY.

The 4 Pillars of Being Well

These pillars are the basis of a normal healthy lifestyle. So, balancing them is vital in leading a conscious life.

Faith

Whatever your fundamental beliefs are, faith helps you hold your ground in all situations. This does not mean your religion; focus on what you believe in. Your morals, goals, and values

In good times and bad times, having faith keeps your hopes upThat is how you will most likely make it through a tough situation instead of letting it cripple you.

Function

The way you act and carry yourself affects your physical and mental health. It impacts the pattern of how you think and feels about yourselves.

Posture plays a significant role because people judge you based on your appearance, and posture is the first thing they see besides your face. Not only is it a way for people to judge but posture directly affects how you feel, breathe, digest food, and act.

  • To test this, the Ohio State University experimented on 71 students. Some were told to slouch in their chair, while others sat up straight. The students with good posture demonstrated more confidence in themselves and showed more positive thinking.

And it is not merely about posture; how your mind and body function is directly proportional to your health.

So make sure to correct your sleeping patterns and your posture, control stress, and engage in healthy activities to stay healthy.

Fitness

Let’s face it; we will all get old one day. That is a fact of life and shows how far you have made it despite the odds. While everyone ages, the real issue is how we get there.

How do we manage our lives? Do you choose to live a healthy lifestyle with plenty of exercise and physical activity? Or do you let yourself go and let disease eat us away?

The CHOICE is YOURS.

Remember, you won’t live forever.

So make the most of this life by adopting better ways for your well-being. You can start small by taking a short walk, just 20 minutes a day. And then, you can build up from there.

Food

Nutrition plays one of the most significant roles in longevity, physical health, emotional health, and mental health. The best thing you can do for yourself is to have a good clean diet; it’s more important than your exercise.

You are what you eat. The quality of food you put in your body directly correlates to the overall quality of your life.

  • What do you eat?
  • How do you eat?
  • Why do you eat?

These are questions to ask yourself to see if you are using food as fuel or a coping mechanism. Epigenetics is the expression of how the general lifestyle of people impacts their future generations.

While we blame most illnesses on genetics, the reality is that many diseases directly result from poor quality of life.

That means…

You will hurt yourself and future generations if you don’t act now.

So, adopt good eating habits starting today. Limit your intake of junk and fast foods. Don’t eat too much or too little. Try to opt for healthier options when you can.

Remember that every choice you make has a consequence.

So, it is up to you whether you choose to make things better or not. Living consciously and making wise decisions in all aspects is the only way to live well. Only this can ensure your well-being in the long run and guarantee you satisfaction in life.
